Full Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and organized Office Manager to oversee the daily administrative and customer service operations of a small water utility. This position plays a key role in billing, customer communication, recordkeeping, and supporting regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently in a small office environment.

Responsibilities

Manage daily office operations and administrative tasks
Handle escalated customer issues
Handle water billing, payments, account updates, and notices
Maintain accurate customer, financial, and compliance records
Assist with regulatory reporting, audits, and documentation
Coordinate with field staff regarding service requests and work orders
Prepare correspondence, reports, and customer communications
Assist with emergency notifications during service interruptions
Creating payroll checks and reports weekly

Qualifications

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of office management or administrative experience
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
Basic bookkeeping or accounting knowledge
Use of Quickbooks accounting software

Preferred:

Experience with utility billing or municipal offices
Familiarity with regulated environments (or willingness to learn)

Work Environment

Office-based role
Standard business hours
Occasional after-hours availability once per month for board meetings

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
