CNC Lathe Machinist
Location: College Point, NY
DIRECT HIRE OPPORTUNITY

If you're a highly skilled CNC professional specializing in CNC Lathe / Turning machines, you'll want to apply for this excellent opportunity as it offers one of the nicest, cutting-edge, state-of-the-art machine shops in the tri-state area! Our client is also very well-established, immune to cutbacks and declines in business and they offer an excellent benefits package including a company match on the 401k plan. There is also excellent opportunity to earn 1.5x pay for OT hours worked.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Independently run various CNC Lathe Machines performing set-up, operation and program editing
Responsible for selecting the appropriate scheduled job, setting up and running it to completion using any prints or other necessary documentation.
Measuring and offsetting tooling.
Marking and packing tools appropriately.
Performing self in-process inspections and documenting them appropriately.
Following company protocol: designated colored areas and colored tagging system.
Performing machine maintenance based on guidelines.
Responsible for bringing any non-conformity to the attention of the Operations Manager.
Responsible for running & inspecting parts per dwg/print.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and /or experience; high school diploma or equivalent
2 years min work experience performing set-up and operation of CNC Lathe / Turning machinery
Capability to work in a fast-paced environment
Motivated self-starter
Enjoy working in a team environment as well as independently with little supervision
Ability to pass a preemployment screening

Salary: $22 to $35 an hour based on experience plus 15% shift differential pay
Shift: 2nd shift position with regular hours of M-F 4:15 pm - 12:45 am
