About the Company
Created in 2015, the Combined Regional Communications Authority (CRCA) is a regional emergency communications center that proudly emergency dispatch services for 4 law enforcement agencies, 8 fire protection districts, 4 EMS provides, and 2 search and rescue teams in Fremont and Custer Counties in Colorado. CRCA is the primary public service answering point (PSAP) for all 911 calls across both counties, covering 2,274 square miles and a combined population of over 50,000 people.
Position Summary
Under general supervision, the administrative assistant performs a variety of administrative support functions for the Director and Deputy Director of CRCA as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Independently or with minimal supervision:
- Receives and prepares all open records requests.
- Distributes copies of applicable reports to appropriate agencies, such as attorneys’ offices, insurance companies, and citizens as requested.
- Performs database record research and provides information to employees, attorneys, and others as allowed by law.
- Performs cashier and receptionist duties including collecting miscellaneous fees and payments and answering telephones.
- Maintains physical files of all open records requests, invoices, and payments received.
- Provides excellent customer service to external and internal customers including but not limited to effectively listening and communicating, providing accurate information, offering solutions, assisting in resolution, and ensuring timely follow up as needed
· Reconciles purchase card receipt statements monthly.
· New hire management to include, application tracking, correspondence, backgrounds, testing, and interview scheduling.
· Processes payroll on a bi-weekly basis.
· Work closely with Executive Director and Deputy Director in all areas of center business.
Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties, although not essential to the position, are important components to the smooth and efficient operation of the Center.
- Transcribes meeting or interview notes and distributes departmental mail.
- Compiles and submits monthly and annual call statistics to the Director and Deputy Director.
- Attends or completes trainings, seminars, and meetings as required.
- Performs related duties as established by law or ordinance or as reasonably directed by the Deputy or Executive Director.
- Ability to maintain monthly and annual phone call and call for service statistics.
- Event planning
Minimum Qualifications/Education
· High-school diploma or GED.
· Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
· Type 40 WPM.
· Knowledge of the practices and methods of data entry and records management.
· Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
· Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
· Ability to distribute copies of applicable reports to appropriate agencies.
· Ability to build effective relationships as needed with employees, government officials, contractors, vendors, and the public.
· Skilled in performing database record research.
· Skilled in cashier and receptionist duties including collecting miscellaneous fees and payments, answering telephone, and ordering office supplies.
· Familiar with basic computer functions. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software, Google Workspace, and Adobe.
· Knowledge of basic office equipment including but not limited to copiers, fax machines, and multi-line phone systems.
· Ability to follow spoken and/or written directions.
Preferred Qualifications/Education
· 2 years’ experience in an office setting
· Knowledge of the Colorado Criminal Justice Records Act
A combination of education, training and experience that provides the listed knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted.
Benefits and Wages
Salary range: $25.46 - $31.02/hr DOE. While this is the entire salary range for this position, applicants should not expect an initial offer at the top, as starting compensation will reflect experience, skills, and internal equity, with room for growth over time. Physical Activities:
· This position works in an office setting with occasional local travel.
· This position requires light physical exertion and the normal range of motion, dexterity, and vision, and occasionally requires lifting to 35 pounds.

· Communicates verbally with CRCA staff, outside agencies and the public in one-on-one settings, group settings and over the telephone.
Additional Information
· This position will typically work Monday – Friday.
· This position will be required to attend occasional meetings and/or other events after normal work hours and outside of CRCA facilities.
· Travel within the City of Canon City and Fremont and Custer Counties will be required.
