Associate Therapist (AMFT/APCC)

New Spirit Recovery – Encino, CA

Join a Team That Changes Lives

New Spirit Recovery is seeking a motivated Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) to join our residential withdrawal management and substance use disorder treatment program.

We are looking for a clinician who is passionate about helping others, takes initiative, and wants to make a meaningful impact—not someone who simply checks boxes or completes the minimum requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

Provide individual therapy for assigned clients.
Facilitate psychoeducational and process groups.
Complete biopsychosocial assessments (BPS), treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Complete intake and admission documentation.
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
Provide crisis intervention and clinical support when needed.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing, case management, utilization review, and support staff.
Maintain timely, accurate, and insurance-compliant clinical documentation.

QualificationsRequired

Active California AMFT or APCC registration.
Master's degree in a behavioral health field.
Experience working with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring mental health disorders.
Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and professionalism.

Preferred

Experience or knowledge of:

Residential treatment
Withdrawal management (Detox)
ASAM Criteria
DHCS regulations
Joint Commission (TJC) standards
Commercial insurance documentation
Kipu Electronic Health Record

Schedule

Monday–Friday
Full-time

Although this is not an on-call position, our clinicians are expected to be flexible and available to support the treatment team during significant clinical situations or emergencies when therapist involvement is necessary.
