COOK – DROP THE MIC KARAOKE

At Drop The Mic Karaoke, we don’t just serve food — we help set the stage for unforgettable nights. As a Cook, you’ll be an essential part of the show behind the scenes — prepping, cooking, and plating dishes that fuel a high-volume, entertainment-driven experience.

Whether it’s a busy weekend service, a private event in our VIP lounge, or a steady weeknight crowd, your focus on speed, consistency, and quality keeps our kitchen running smoothly and our guests satisfied.

What We’re Looking For:

Speed & Efficiency: You move fast and stay organized — even when the ticket printer doesn’t stop.

Attention to Detail: You take pride in every plate that leaves the window, knowing consistency matters just as much as creativity.

Prep & Line Readiness: You understand the flow of the kitchen — from setting up your station to keeping it clean, stocked, and ready for whatever the night throws at you.

Teamwork & Communication: You work well with others, take direction, and jump in to support your teammates whenever needed.

Positive Energy: You bring a can-do attitude to every shift and help keep the kitchen vibe respectful, focused, and upbeat — even when it’s go-time.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare food items according to Drop The Mic Karaoke standards and recipes
Execute dishes quickly, consistently, and to spec during service
Set up and break down stations with full mise en place
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout your shift
Follow food safety protocols and handle ingredients properly
Communicate with the Sous Chef and Head Chef about prep levels, 86s, or station issues
Assist with prep tasks as needed before, during, or after service
Label, store, and rotate food properly according to FIFO standards
Help with special events, catering orders, or VIP suite food service when required
Maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout the shift
Jump in to support dishwashing, deep cleaning, or cross-station needs as requested

Qualifications:

1+ year experience in a commercial kitchen preferred (prep, line, or fast-casual cooking)
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, sanitation, and kitchen equipment
Current Washington State Food Handler’s Permit (or ability to obtain before starting)
Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Eager to learn, grow, and support a team-first kitchen culture

Bonus Points For:

Experience in high-volume kitchens or entertainment venues
Familiarity with prep lists, kitchen station setup, and line coordination
Interest in music, pop culture, or a love for a great karaoke night
Bilingual (Spanish/English)
