Salary: $80,000 – $125,000 + Benefits

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Tax Accountant to join a growing public accounting team. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in business tax preparation, tax planning, financial reporting, and accounting. The successful candidate will work closely with a diverse client base, ensuring accurate tax compliance while providing strategic tax and financial guidance.

Compensation

Senior Tax Accountant (5+ years of experience): $100,000 – $125,000 + Benefits

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, accounting records, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Prepare and file federal, state, and local business tax returns accurately and on time.
Manage tax compliance for business clients across multiple jurisdictions.
Perform tax planning and consulting to help clients minimize tax liabilities and achieve financial objectives.
Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Assist clients with statutory filings, tax research, and financial reporting.
Develop, implement, and maintain accounting systems, procedures, and record-keeping practices.
Collaborate with clients to provide strategic financial and tax guidance.
Stay current with changes in tax legislation, accounting standards, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Minimum 6 years of public accounting experience with a strong focus on business tax preparation.
Experience preparing business tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and other business entities.
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA license preferred but not required.
Candidates actively pursuing CPA certification are encouraged to apply.
Experience with tax planning and client advisory services.

Technical Skills

Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Adobe Acrobat.
Experience with tax and accounting software, including:
GoFileRoom
UltraTax
Fixed Assets
Other comparable tax and accounting applications

Required Experience

6+ years of business tax preparation in a public accounting environment.
Experience preparing financial statements and managing tax compliance for business clients.
Ability to work with clients across multiple industries and jurisdictions.
