CNC Swiss Programmer / Leadman

Position: CNC Swiss Programmer / Leadman
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Pay: Competitive, based on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced CNC Swiss Programmer / Leadman to join our manufacturing team. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for programming, setting up, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC Swiss machines while providing daily direction and technical support to machine operators and setup personnel.

The ideal candidate will have strong Swiss machining experience, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Program, set up, and troubleshoot CNC Swiss machines.
Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs for new and existing jobs.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
Determine proper tooling, speeds, feeds, offsets, and machining processes.
Perform new-job setups, program prove-outs, and first-piece runs.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, quality, and production issues.
Improve cycle times, tool life, setup times, and overall machine efficiency.
Ensure parts are manufactured to required dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.
Use precision measuring equipment to verify parts and processes.
Provide technical guidance and daily direction to Swiss operators and setup personnel.
Train and mentor employees on proper setups, tooling, machine operation, and troubleshooting.
Help prioritize jobs and coordinate workflow to meet production schedules.
Monitor production and address issues that may cause downtime, scrap, or delays.
Work closely with Quality, Production, and Management to resolve manufacturing issues.
Maintain organized programs, setup sheets, tooling information, and related documentation.
Promote and enforce company safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement throughout the Swiss department.

Qualifications

5+ years of CNC Swiss machining/programming experience preferred.
Strong hands-on experience programming and setting up CNC Swiss machines.
Previous lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of CNC programming and G-code.
Ability to independently take a job from blueprint/programming through setup and production.
Strong understanding of tooling, feeds and speeds, offsets, and machining processes.
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T.
Experience working with tight-tolerance precision components.
Proficient with micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills.
Ability to train, guide, and communicate effectively with machine operators and setup personnel.
Dependable, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a production environment.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a strong, experienced Swiss machinist/programmer who can take ownership of the department. The right candidate should be comfortable working directly on the machines while also leading the team, solving production problems, improving processes, and ensuring jobs are completed correctly and on schedule.

This is not an entry-level position. Candidates should have extensive hands-on CNC Swiss experience and be capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
