About us

We are a newly established (1.5 years) family owned restaurant on the East side of Houston in Crosby, Texas. We have renovated one of the oldest buildings in Crosby and turned it into a beautiful restaurant with a, cozy back patio area.

We have won Best New Restaurant, and Best Overall Restaurant in our local community annual business awards 2 years in a row, and are looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to take lead of our team and continue to provide our guests with an experience they can't get anywhere else locally.

As a small, family owned restaurant you will have room for your own creativity to shine through.

**Job Overview**

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to help lead our already established team.

As the culinary leader of our kitchen, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining a high-quality food service operation, overseeing daily kitchen operations, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be a culinary expert with kitchen management experience and a passion for creating delicious dishes and a commitment to excellent food safety and hygiene practices.

**Responsibilities**

- Manage the kitchen team, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure effective team performance.

- Develop and implement menus that cater to diverse dietary needs and preferences.

- Oversee inventory management, ensuring that supplies are ordered and stocked correctly to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.

- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment that exceeds food safety standards.

- Work closely with the restaurant management team to ensure that the kitchen operation aligns with the restaurant's overall vision and goals.

- Assist in the planning and execution of special events and catering services.

- Expected to work all stations as necessary, depending on the demands of the day.

- Provide support to the front-of-house staff, ensuring seamless communication and service.

- Perform additional responsibilities not detailed here as requested or needed by management.

- Ensuring all employees are trained and able to correctly and safely use all kitchen equipment

- Ensure food items are prepared, cooked and plated consistently in a timely manner.

**Experience**

- Proven experience in a high-volume restaurant or culinary establishment.

- Experience with menu planning, inventory management, and team management.

- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

- Experience working with diverse dietary requirements, including special diets and allergies.

- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of cooks and kitchen staff.

- A passion for culinary excellence, with a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes that exceed customer expectations.

- Ensure set is complete for each station according to restaurant guidelines and expectations.

- Train subordinate chefs in preparing ingredients, portioning, prep and storing foods according to restaurant standards.

**Skills**

- Culinary expertise and knowledge of various cuisines and cooking techniques.

- Experience with menu planning and inventory management.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.

- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

- Ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with the restaurant management team and front-of-house staff.

- Ability to assist across all stations to ensure kitchen operations are being handled in an efficient and timely manner.
