Full Job Description

Who we are:

Swank Creamery is a chef-driven, small-batch ice cream shop dedicated to creating an elevated dessert experience. We make all of our ice cream, inclusions, cookie doughs, and drink syrups from scratch using premium ingredients.

Job Type:

We are seeking a full time pastry kitchen manager to join our team and assist with daily production. The perfect candidate has a positive attitude and takes initiative. We are looking for consistent team members who want to grow with the company and help us maintain our reputation for excellence.

Responsibilities:

Oversee ice cream production including pasteurizing, aging, and churning
Lead daily production of all ice cream bases, inclusions, cookie doughs, jams, and other from-scratch components
Handle ordering, inventory management, and maintaining adequate stock levels
Ensure proper food safety and sanitation practices are followed in the kitchen at all times
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
Manage prep lists, delegating tasks to team members
Ensure products meet high-quality standards
Report to owner/ chef regarding kitchen performance, inventory, and team needs
Work closely with pastry cooks to ensure proper execution of recipes

Requirements:

Minimum 3 years in a professional pastry kitchen or bakery
At least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role
Strong knowledge of ice cream production
Previous experience managing kitchen staff and overseeing workflow
Is reliable and punctual as we are a small team and every role is integral to our success
Must have excellent time management skills and be able to work quickly and multi-task
Must be available Tuesday-Saturday morning shifts (7am-3pm)
Must be able to follow established recipes to achieve brand consistency and quality standards set by the company
Must have a positive attitude
Reliable and able to work independently
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Must be detail-oriented and able to follow established recipes to achieve brand consistency and quality standards
Must be comfortable standing for long periods of time as we make everything from scratch and do very detailed work
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines

Work Environment:

We are a very team-oriented company offering a positive, collaborative, and enjoyable work environment. Whether FOH or BOH our goal is the same, to create a memorable experience for all of our guests and to serve the most delicious desserts. We work hard, but we also prioritize work-life balance!We do not work on Sundays, Mondays, or holidays.

Compensation:

$23-$24/ hour. All employees receive tips in addition to their hourly pay after training is complete!

We are a growing company and are committed to providing opportunities for growth and advancement. This role includes two weeks of PTO. An additional week of PTO is provided for the week we are closed for our annual Christmas break.
