CJ’s Dispensary is seeking a dependable, experienced, and customer-focused Shift Supervisor to support daily dispensary operations and lead retail staff during assigned shifts.

The Shift Supervisor plays a key leadership role in ensuring a smooth, compliant, and high-performing retail environment. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in support of the Store Manager and organization, assisting and training budtenders, maintaining regulatory compliance, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, confident leader, and experienced cannabis or retail professional who can balance customer service, compliance, and team support in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.This is a full-time position reporting directly to the General Manager.

Essential Duties

Oversee day-to-day dispensary operations during assigned shifts to ensure smooth and compliant store performance.
Provide hands-on support to budtenders and retail staff, including coaching, training, and reinforcing policies and procedures.
Enforce company policies, procedures, and Ohio cannabis regulations to ensure full compliance at all times.
Serve as acting lead in the absence of the General Manager, exercising appropriate discretion to support store operations and decision-making.
Monitor and support cash handling procedures, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and immediate reporting of any discrepancies or issues.
Respond to and resolve customer concerns, complaints, and service issues to ensure a positive customer experience.
Support inventory processes, including oversight receiving deliveries of both cannabis and non-cannabis, stocking, organization, and communication of discrepancies.
Serve as a knowledgeable resource for staff regarding products, policies, procedures, and updates to cannabis regulations.
Communicate operational updates and concerns clearly between staff, other supervisors, and upper management.
Promote a positive, professional, and team-oriented culture focused on customer service excellence and integrity.
Handle store-level incidents or emergencies appropriately and report all employee or operational issues to the General Manager.

Qualifications

Must be at least 21 years of age
High school diploma or GED required
Previous retail, hospitality, customer service, or cannabis industry supervisory experience preferred
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Working knowledge of cannabis products and Ohio cannabis regulations preferred
Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and retail operations. Experience with seed-to-sale tracking systems preferred.
Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced, regulated environment
Strong attention to detail and accountability
Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of Ohio cannabis laws and regulations

Physical Requirements

Occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, grab, and move throughout the dispensary for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Performing operational tasks like handling inventory operating a computer or POS terminal.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
