Full Job Description

Position Summary

Premier Health Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily operations of our clinical laboratory within a fast-paced, multi-specialty medical practice. The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for ensuring high-quality laboratory services, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, and efficient workflow to support patient care across multiple specialties.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily operations of the clinical laboratory to ensure accurate and timely testing
Oversee and support laboratory staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management
Ensure compliance with all CLIA, OSHA, CAP (if applicable), and state regulatory requirements
Maintain quality control and quality assurance programs, including documentation and audits
Monitor inventory levels and order laboratory supplies as needed
Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and functionality of laboratory equipment
Implement and enforce laboratory safety protocols and infection control standards
Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and clinical staff to support diagnostic needs
Review and validate test results as required by scope of practice
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and patient care
Address and resolve laboratory-related issues or discrepancies in a timely manner
NJ/NY Licensure and certification experience required

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or related field required
Current MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred (or required based on state regulations)
Minimum 3–5 years of clinical laboratory experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role
Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and quality systems
Familiarity with CLIA, OSHA, and healthcare compliance standards
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a multi-specialty, fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

Experience in outpatient or multi-specialty practice setting
Strong EMR and laboratory information system (LIS) experience
Ability to implement workflows and improve operational efficiency
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Work Environment

This position is based in a clinical, multi-specialty medical office setting and requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of laboratory supplies or equipment.

Pay: $48.00 - $50.00 per hour
