Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Title Insurance Settlement Officer/Clerk to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage the intricacies of real estate transactions, ensuring accurate title processing and seamless closings. Your expertise will help clients navigate the complexities of property transfers while adhering to legal and underwriting guidelines. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a reputable title agency dedicated to excellence in real estate law.

Responsibilities

Process orders, request searches, payoffs and other conveyancing
Manage title processing tasks ensure clear titles for closing including reviewing with our in-house atttorneys
Utilize Softpro® software and mapping tools such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) to prepare accurate property maps and legal descriptions
Review real estate documentation, including deeds, liens, encumbrances, and other legal documents, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines
Coordinate with clients, lenders, agents, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth real estate closings and resolve any title discrepancies
Maintain detailed records of title searches, research activities, and closing documentation in accordance with legal standards
Ensure adherence to all legal requirements related to real estate law and underwriting policies throughout the transaction process

Requirements

Proven experience in a title agency or law office settings or real estate transaction management roles with a focus on title insurance or related fields
Strong knowledge of real estate law, legal descriptions, easements, rights-of-way, and public records research techniques
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with real estate documentation review processes
Excellent research skills with attention to detail when reviewing title records and legal documents
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members while providing outstanding customer service
Knowledge of underwriting guidelines adherence and legal descriptions relevant to property transactions
