Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Nurse specializing in Mental Health, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive psychiatric and behavioral health care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a collaborative environment, utilizing your expertise to improve patient outcomes across diverse settings. You will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing mental health conditions while ensuring compassionate, patient-centered care. Your expertise will contribute to innovative treatment plans and support the overall well-being of individuals facing mental health challenges. Working with youths and adults in a group home setting and a outpatient facilty.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including mental status examinations, vital signs, and detailed medical histories.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals, utilizing evidence-based practices.
Administer medications and injections, including psychopharmacology treatments, following HIPAA regulations and DEA guidelines.
Perform clinical procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, catheterization, and sterile processing when necessary.
Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately to document patient care, treatment progress, and clinical notes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, case managers, and advanced practice providers to coordinate comprehensive care.
Provide patient education on medication administration, lifestyle modifications, and mental health management strategies.

Skills

Extensive experience working with behavioral health populations and managing complex psychiatric cases.
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for documentation and patient management.
Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses using ICD-10 coding standards; familiarity with CPT coding for procedures.
Skilled in administering injections, performing physical examinations, and conducting diagnostic evaluations.
Experience with telehealth platforms to deliver remote mental health services effectively.
Ability to perform triage assessments in urgent care or emergency room settings for acute psychiatric presentations.
Knowledge of pharmacology related to psychotropic medications and medication management protocols.
