Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Claims Manager specializing in extended warranty to lead our claims operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the end-to-end claims process for high-value warranty claims, ensuring efficient resolution while maintaining compliance with industry regulations. Your expertise will drive risk assessment, fraud prevention, and customer satisfaction, fostering trust and confidence in our warranty services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a dedicated team, develop strategic claims handling procedures, and contribute to the growth of our innovative warranty solutions.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the claims team responsible for processing extended warranty claims, ensuring timely and accurate adjudication.
Oversee the review and analysis of complex claims involving property, casualty, auto, water damage restoration, and workers' compensation insurance.
Conduct detailed risk assessments and underwriting evaluations to determine claim validity and appropriate settlement amounts.
Implement fraud prevention and detection strategies to identify suspicious claims and mitigate financial losses.
Negotiate claim settlements with policyholders, service providers, auto repair shops, contractors, and legal representatives while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
Ensure compliance with insurance laws, regulations, and company policies across all claims activities.
Collaborate with legal teams on insurance claims litigation and liability insurance claims processing as needed.
Utilize advanced insurance software tools such as medical coding systems (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, DRG systems, and financial management software to streamline operations.
Develop training programs for staff on policy interpretation, regulatory updates, and technical skills such as auto estimating or construction inspection.
Maintain thorough documentation of all claims activities, including medical records, technical reports, and correspondence for audit purposes.

Qualifications

Proven experience managing claims teams with a focus on property, casualty, auto restoration, or workers' compensation insurance.
Strong knowledge of insurance law, policy interpretation, regulatory compliance in claims processing, and insurance regulation standards.
Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, claims adjustment techniques, risk analysis, fraud detection methods, and liability insurance claims processing.
Familiarity with handling high-value insurance claims across various sectors including water damage restoration, mold remediation, construction inspection or automotive repair is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite along with specialized insurance software such as medical billing systems or HCPCS codes is essential.
Excellent organizational skills combined with analysis skills to evaluate complex cases efficiently.
Ability to interpret medical documentation using ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10), CPT coding standards, and understand medical terminology relevant to workers' compensation or casualty claims.
Strong communication skills for effective service writing and customer interactions; experience managing insurance verification processes is advantageous.
Relevant certifications in insurance adjusting or risk management are highly desirable; familiarity with auto estimating or mechanical knowledge can be beneficial for specific claim types.
