Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Residential Construction Estimator to join our growing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of residential construction projects, from initial blueprint review to final bid submission. Your expertise will help ensure projects are financially viable while maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your construction industry experience and estimation skills to contribute to successful project delivery and company growth.

Responsibilities

Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine material and labor requirements.
Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other construction management tools to prepare detailed cost estimates.
Conduct material cost estimating and pricing, ensuring accuracy in material requirements derived from blueprints and technical drawings.
Manage project estimates by developing comprehensive budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring alignment with client expectations.
Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams through effective negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
Monitor project costs throughout the construction process, utilizing cost management techniques to stay within budget.
Review contracts, manage project schedules, and oversee estimation for commercial residential projects while adhering to industry standards.
Interpret technical drawings and construction plans accurately to facilitate precise estimation of materials and labor needs.
Maintain detailed spreadsheets and documentation for all estimates, bids, and project-related financial data.
Support project management efforts by providing accurate estimates that influence project timelines, resource allocation, and overall execution.

Qualifications

Background in Construction Management, Construction Science, Business, Finance, or related degree
Proven experience in managing projects as a construction estimator within the residential or commercial construction industry.
Strong proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate, or similar tools.
Must be proficient utilizing Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook, Experience with Autocaad or Newstar Enterprise Database is a plus.
Experience in single family residential construction or estimating is required.
Be able to read and understand architectural plans, prints.
Deep understanding of construction estimating processes including cost control, material cost estimating, and budgeting for residential projects.
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams and manage client relationships.
