Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Structural Welder to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding and assembling large steel structures with precision and adherence to industry standards. Your expertise will ensure the integrity, safety, and quality of our projects, contributing to the successful completion of complex construction and manufacturing initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects that demand technical excellence, mechanical knowledge, and a proactive approach.

Duties

Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding specifications and fabrication requirements.
Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes.
Set up and operate various power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape sheet metal, ductwork, piping, and structural components.
Use calipers, micrometers, shop math, and schematics to measure materials accurately for cutting, fitting, and welding.
Execute mechanical fabrication tasks including pipe threading, rigging, assembly, and metal fabrication with precision.
Conduct quality inspections using hand tools and gauges to ensure welds meet safety standards and project specifications.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites or in fabrication shops.

Experience

Proven construction site experience with a strong background in structural welding projects.
Demonstrated proficiency in MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW welding techniques on various metals including steel and sheet metal.
Familiarity with blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and mechanical blueprints.
Experience operating rigging equipment such as cranes or forklifts is preferred.
Knowledge of ASME codes & standards related to metal fabrication and welding practices.
Hands-on experience with shop math, fabrication shop processes, machining operations, and the use of hand tools.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced manufacturing or construction environments while maintaining high safety standards.
