Full Job Description

Estimator – Demolition & Abatement Division

Location: Corona (Must be willing to travel to other job sites)

General Job Responsibilities

Must have ability and willingness to multi-task, face challenges and solve problems with proper time management.

Respect and value all team members.

Approach every workday with integrity, and a team player and collaborative mentality, with a willingness to step in when asked or needed.

Demonstrate a complete understanding of construction methods related to general construction.

Demonstrate solid presentation, verbal, written and thinking skills.

Demonstrate computer skills, use software and applications required by the company including but not limited to; B2W, OnScreen Takeoff, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Amplify, and others as needed.

Build and maintain effective relationships with managers, team members, customers, vendors, and subcontractors, by meeting or exceeding their requirements and expectations.

Establish priorities and goals and strive for better and improved results.

Know and understand the requirements of Client contracts, including permits, notifications, schedules, reporting, budgets, costs, etc.

Reflect and support the Company’s core values, always promoting professionalism.

Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.

Daily Requirements - Estimator

Work on bids that are assigned.

Review plans and specifications, verify all documents are current and downloaded on server.

Review all bid documents in detail, highlight items of concern, submit RFIs as needed before the required deadline.

Review site-specific project insurance requirements (OCIP, CCIP) to confirm the company meets the required limits. Coordinate with Insurance Coordinator, Kellie Waldron, as needed, she will request quotes from Insurance Broker if needed.

Fill out Bond Request Form and submit to Bid Coordinator.

Schedule and attend site visit, taking photos and uploading to the server.

Perform onscreen takeoffs to confirm bid quantities.

Contact and discuss the project with Clients as needed, being knowledgeable of the scope of work, logistics, methods, schedule duration, etc. Respond in a timely manner.

Estimate all projects in B2W software.

Submit all bids on time.

Follow-up on all bids.

Procure vendor quotes for trucking and disposal. Save all quotes on the server.

Procure subcontractor quotes as needed; abatement, utilities, paving, crushing, etc. Save all quotes on the server.

Use and update the company’s vendor list during subcontractor/vendor quote process.

Attend job walks, bid negotiation, scope review, preconstruction, etc. meetings with Clients.

Upon award of a project, verbal or written, complete and submit a Work Order and the completed Pre-bid Checklist to Project Coordinator, Kellie Waldron.

Upon receipt of the contract agreement, forward it to Project Coordinator, Kellie Waldron.

Provide a detailed review and comments on the contract scope of work, schedule durations, notes, clarifications and exclusions.

Assist Project Coordinator with submittal of SCAQMD notifications for abatement and demolition.

Attend and participate in the weekly Estimating meeting. Mandatory attendance is required.

Attend company internal preconstruction meetings in office and on the jobsites.

Prepare all bid and contract documents for a clean, smooth handoff from the Estimating department to the Operations team. Provide all background information on the project to the project team. Review the estimate with the project team, discussing how the project was bid, means and methods, crew breakdown, etc.

Engage in the projects on a daily basis, regarding scope coverage, documentation, and project management assistance.

Safety & Compliance

Comply with all company safety policies and procedures.

Adhere to all applicable OSHA regulations and local, state, and federal requirements related to

demolition and abatement work.

Promote a safe working environment and report any unsafe conditions.

Working Conditions

Special working conditions could include a range of circumstances from;

Regular, Swing, Night and Weekend shifts

Working indoors and/or outdoors

Working with a wide range of individual personalities between co-workers, Clients, etc.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods of time

Ability to walk job sites, including uneven terrain

Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs as needed

Ability to work in outdoor environments and be exposed to varying weather conditions during site visits

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, occasionally high-stress environment

Must maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record in accordance

with company insurance requirements
