Position Title: KIDS Club After School Activity Leader
Grades: K-5
Location: Oak Hill School, Eugene, OR
Schedule: Part Time (0.4 FTE)
Monday – Thursday 2:00-6pm
Approximately 0.4 FTE during the school year, with occasional opportunities for 8 hour days when providing care during days when school is not in session.
Reports to: Auxiliary Programs Coordinator and Auxiliary Programs Director

Appointment Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt, 10 month appointment September -June (with possibility of extension if interested in summer camp)
Major Position Responsibilities
- Monitors and supervises children in a variety of recreation activities
- Monitors participant safety with various measures including attendance taking, active supervision, and frequent head counts. Ensures the safety of all participants at the site.
- Implements/Facilitates the curriculum for each day (crafts, experiments, games,etc.)
- Responsible for ensuring the safety of children in the program while engaging children in and facilitating recreation activities such as games, songs, learning activities, arts and craft projects, and special events.
- Assists with serving snacks; performs necessary cleanup.
- Respond to behavior concerns and implements PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies.
- Administers first aid and responds to emergencies as required.
- At the direction of the Auxiliary Programs Coordinator, prepares site; sets up supplies and/or equipment for activities; performs necessary cleanup.
- Responds to questions from parents and keeps them informed regarding their child’s progress/achievements.
- Adhere to the daily program schedule.
- Routine cleaning and sanitization of program sites and supplies.
- Completes paperwork as required.
- Reports cases of suspected child abuse to Auxiliary Programs Director and contacts Oak Hill Front Office as necessary.
- Performs other job-related duties or tasks as required.
- Work is performed under the supervision of the Auxiliary Programs Coordinator with daily on-site direction from the Auxiliary Programs Coordinator or Auxiliary Programs Director. This position does not have staff supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience Required.
- Experience And Training: High school graduation or equivalency and one year of experience working with children; or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the above-described duties.
- Necessary Special Requirements: Possession of or ability to obtain current first aid and CPR certificates; Possession or ability to obtain Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Certification (RRCAN) and Introduction to Childcare Health and Safety Certification (ICCHS). This job is considered safety sensitive, a drug screen test, and ability to pass a criminal background check may be required prior to employment.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Ability to use protective equipment required to perform job tasks as needed and as required by health and safety guidelines.

- Applicants must have current state issued identification, be able to pass a background check and must be able to secure current first aid certification.
Working Environment:
Requires light work that involves walking or standing most of the time.
May be required to supervise outside activities in inclement weather.
This position must speak, read, write, and communicate clearly in the English language.
This position requires frequent sitting, walking, and standing and applicants must be able to lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds.
This position requires ability to perform CPR and First Aid
This position is required to work on-site; the duties of the position cannot be fully completed via remote.
