Overview

Pioneer Property Management Inc. is looking for a Cook/Assistant Kitchen Manager to join our team at Racine's Hidden Gem: Home Harbor Assisted Living. Home Harbor is a 110-unit residential care apartment complex in Racine, WI. We are dedicated to providing quality senior living services in a supportive and caring environment while promoting the independence, dignity and well-being our residents. Apply today!

Job Summary

The position Cook/Assistant Kitchen Manager is responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences for the residents by preparing nutritious, attractive meals in a clean, safe and welcoming environment.

Reports To:

This role reports to the Kitchen Manager.

Supervision:

This role has no supervisory duties.

Schedule:

The dietary aid will work up to 40 hours per week.

Functions/Responsibilities:

Prepare breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to planned menus and standardized recipes.
Ensure meals are served on time and at appropriate temperatures.
Prepare modified and special diets as directed.
Assist with menu planning and food production.
Receive, rotate, and properly store food deliveries using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) procedures.
Monitor food quality, inventory, and supply levels.
Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen in compliance with Wisconsin Food Code requirements.
Complete daily temperature logs, cleaning schedules, and sanitation records.
Assist the Kitchen Manager with scheduling, training, and supervising dietary staff.
Serve as Kitchen Manager during absences, as assigned.
Build positive relationships with residents and provide excellent customer service.
Follow all infection prevention and workplace safety procedures.

Qualifications/Competencies:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
One year or more of cooking experience in a commercial kitchen; healthcare or senior living experience preferred.
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain after hire).
Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
Dependable attendance and a positive attitude.
