Full Job Description

Build Your Career Where Basketball, Rehabilitation, and Performance Come Together

At Sculpt U, you will work inside One World Academy, surrounded by basketball players, coaches, strength professionals, and a state-of-the-art athletic training environment.

This is not a traditional outpatient Physical Therapist role.

You will work with youth, collegiate, and professional-level basketball athletes, helping them move from injury recovery back to training, competition, and higher-level performance.

Every athlete is treated during a 45-minute, one-on-one session, giving you the time to evaluate thoroughly, provide hands-on care, understand the demands of their sport, and build a complete return-to-performance plan.

You will also collaborate directly with basketball coaches and strength and conditioning professionals as part of a comprehensive performance team.

Why This Role Is Different

Many sports Physical Therapists work separately from the coaches and performance professionals guiding an athlete’s development.

At Sculpt U, rehabilitation and performance work together.

You will practice inside One World Academy, an environment committed to developing basketball players and helping athletes improve their movement, confidence, skills, and physical performance.

You will work alongside:

Basketball coaches
Strength and conditioning professionals
Young developing athletes
Competitive teams
Collegiate players
Professional-level athletes

This allows you to understand what the athlete is being asked to do on the court and build a rehabilitation plan that supports those demands.

You will not simply help an athlete become pain-free.

You will help them regain the strength, movement quality, confidence, and physical capacity required to return to competition successfully.

Practice at a High Level

Every athlete receives your full attention during a 45-minute, one-on-one appointment.

You will not be expected to divide your time between multiple patients at once.

Your treatment approach may include:

Advanced manual therapy
Manipulation
Dry needling
Therapeutic exercise
Movement assessment
Progressive strengthening
Return-to-sport programming
Performance-based rehabilitation

You will be able to follow athletes throughout the entire recovery process, from early rehabilitation through sport-specific training and return to play.

Your understanding of basketball will be important when addressing movements such as:

Sprinting
Cutting
Jumping
Landing
Accelerating
Decelerating
Absorbing contact
Repeating high-intensity movements

Previous experience playing basketball is strongly preferred because it will help you understand the physical and psychological demands placed on the athletes you treat.

Help Build a Growing Sports Rehabilitation Program

This position is located within a newer Sculpt U location, giving you the opportunity to contribute ideas and help shape how rehabilitation and performance services are delivered.

You may help create:

Basketball injury-prevention programs
Return-to-sport testing
Preseason movement screenings
Jumping and landing assessments
Mobility and recovery programs
Performance-focused rehabilitation services
Educational workshops for athletes, parents, and coaches

You will also become a trusted resource within the academy by providing education about injuries, functional movement, recovery, training demands, and long-term athletic development.

What You Will Do

As a Sports Physical Therapist at Sculpt U, you will:

Provide individualized care during 45-minute, one-on-one sessions
Evaluate and treat orthopedic and sports-related injuries
Work with youth, collegiate, and professional-level basketball athletes
Develop rehabilitation plans based on each athlete’s injury and performance goals
Use manual therapy, manipulation, dry needling, and therapeutic exercise
Create progressive strengthening and return-to-sport programs
Help athletes transition from rehabilitation back into competition
Collaborate with basketball coaches and strength professionals
Communicate athlete progress and relevant limitations
Evaluate movement quality and factors that may contribute to injury
Educate athletes about their condition and recovery plan
Provide workshops for athletes, parents, and coaches
Build relationships within the One World Academy community
Contribute ideas for new rehabilitation and performance programs
Participate in occasional Saturday athletic events
Maintain accurate clinical documentation

What We Are Looking For

Experienced in orthopedic or sports rehabilitation
Confident with advanced manual therapy
Experienced with manipulation and dry needling

Confident collaborating with coaches and strength professionals
An effective communicator with athletes, parents, and team members
Interested in workshops and community education

Professional, reliable, and committed to excellent care

Required Qualifications

Doctor of Physical Therapy degree
Current or eligible Texas Physical Therapist license
Approximately two or more years of relevant clinical experience
Experience treating orthopedic or sports-related conditions
Manual therapy experience
Dry needling experience or certification
Strong understanding of basketball movement and performance
Excellent communication and patient-care skills

Previous experience playing basketball is strongly preferred.

Because this position requires an established clinical skill set and the ability to work confidently with competitive athletes, new graduate candidates are not currently being considered.
