Full Job Description

Philadelphia Marriott West is currently seeking a Line Cook with a strong background in hospitality, food dining and customer service at our hotel located in West Conshohocken, PA.

The Ideal Candidate for This Position

Cook using sound traditional cooking methods
Produce from scratch menu quality food in appropriate portion size, cut, and quantity.
Ensure all food is prepared and presented in accordance with appropriate recipes, presentations, and guest orders.
Acknowledge any special requests and prepare the menu item accordingly.
Serves as a leader among peers and helps to create a vibrant and healthy dining experience.
Maintain a safe kitchen environment, and continuously enhancing the overall dining program and experience.
Line Cook may act in a supervisory capacity, under the direction of the Executive Chef.

Job Requirements

With our guests in mind, the right candidate will:

Have work permit and proper paperwork to be employed in the USA
Previous experience is required
Strictly follow high safety and sanitation standards.
Recognize and follow quality standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, dairy products, and grains, including proper storage of these items.
Serve hot food, cold food according to company specifics in a timely manner with excellent presentation and the right temperature.
Effective utilization of leftovers and control of waste.
Consistent safe and sanitary food storage, preparation, and cooking.
Monitor and control the maintenance/sanitation of the kitchen and equipment.
Adhere to all safety protocols including handling and transportation of foods and kitchen tools.
Adhere to all proper handling, HACCP, labeling, and storage protocols for all foods and ensure compliance with all relevant food service regulations.
Follow all safety protocols and consistently practice a culture of safety.
Maintain documentation of temperature charts and records.
Positive attitude with a desire to learn.
Must be physically fit in order to lift, push, pull items up to 50 pounds, and must be able to stand up and walk for an extensive period of time.
Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
Provide direction and guidance to kitchen staff in partnership with or in the absence of the Chef.
Maintain an open communication and professional working relationship between front and back of house operations and sister departments.
Actively participate in planning and production meetings with the team.
Attend and actively participate in required in-service training and education programs.
