Full Job Description

Brooks & Landry Fine Catering is a full-service catering company based in Allen Park, serving Metro Detroit and Southeast Michigan since 2021. Our work spans high-end full-service events, corporate catering, production catering for commercial shoots, films, and concerts, and a school meal program serving 450 meals daily.

Position summary: The Prep Cook / Driver works across all of our programs: school meal preparation, event and production prep, and deliveries, with optional onsite event shifts. Mornings typically center on our school program and production kitchen; the same crew preps for film shoots, concerts, and full-service events, so the work carries genuine variety. This is scratch cooking at production pace.

Scheduling and hours: We are a seven-day catering operation, and scheduling follows our school and event calendars. Weekday hours are the anchor, and weekend event shifts are regularly available at overtime rates for those who want them. Hours may run lighter during school breaks — including an approximately two-week break in late December and early January — but overtime opportunities typically bring average hours to roughly 40 per week across the year.

Requirements:

1+ year of kitchen experience preferred; we will train candidates with the right work ethic
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; candidates must be insurable on our commercial vehicle policy. A motor vehicle record (MVR) check is required before any offer.
Availability for a flexible schedule including early mornings, with some evenings and weekends
Ability to lift 50 lbs and remain on your feet for a full shift
Deliveries are made in all weather conditions
ServSafe certification is a plus, not required

Anticipated start date: late August / early September 2026.
