Full Job Description

MUST HAVE working knowledge of ADP WORKFORCE NOW, and TIME & ATTENDANCE.

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for managing all aspects of the company's payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role works closely with HR and other departments to maintain efficient payroll systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Payroll Operations

Process and verify all payroll transactions, including regular payroll runs, bonuses, commissions, and special payments
Maintain accurate payroll records in compliance with record-keeping requirements
Review and verify time and attendance records, ensuring accurate calculation of regular and overtime hours
Manage payroll system configurations, updates, and maintenance
Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure payroll accuracy and prevent errors

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
Prepare and file payroll tax returns and related documents
Monitor changes in payroll regulations and update processes accordingly
Generate and analyze periodic payroll reports for management
Support external auditors during payroll audits

Process Improvement & Administration

Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
Document and maintain standard operating procedures for payroll processes
Collaborate with IT to resolve technical issues and implement system enhancements
Serve as primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees and management
Coordinate with benefits administration to ensure accurate deductions and contributions

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Minimum 3+ years of experience with ADP Workforce Now & Time and Attendance systems - REQUIRED
2+ years of hands-on payroll experience
Extensive knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
Experience with multiple state payroll processing
Knowledge of HR/payroll system implementations
Advanced Excel skills
Experience with medium-sized payroll operations (700+ employees)

In accordance with California pay transparency guidelines, the posted salary range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position. Final compensation within this range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant industry experience in healthcare and leadership experience, education, and overall qualifications.
