Full Job Description

GRP Connecting Rods is a leading manufacturer of high-performance aluminum connecting rods for the racing industry. We are currently seeking a dependable and motivated Machinist to join our manufacturing team. If you have mechanical aptitude, enjoy hands-on work, and want to build a career in precision machining, we'd like to hear from you!

Position Summary

The Machinist is responsible for operating CNC and conventional machining equipment to manufacture high-performance race car connecting rods. This position includes loading raw materials, monitoring machine operations, inspecting finished parts, and maintaining quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

Operate CNC mills, lathes, and other machining equipment.
Load raw forgings and blanks into production machines.
Monitor machine cycles to ensure quality and efficiency.
Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers.
Deburr and finish machined components.
Record production data and report equipment issues promptly.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Follow all company safety and quality procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous manufacturing or machining experience preferred.
CNC machining experience is a plus but not required.
Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Basic shop math skills.
Ability to read blueprints is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements.
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.

Schedule

Full-Time
Monday – Friday
7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Overtime may be available based on production needs.
