Full Job Description

Whole Connection (WC) is seeking an experienced and social justice-oriented Clinical Supervisor to join our team. This role is an opportunity to provide mentorship, oversight, and clinical development to graduate level, pre-licensed, and early-career mental health professionals.

About Whole Connection LLC

Whole Connection came together as a place to provide training and constant growth for therapists who were working in the community, particularly with community members who have difficulty accessing mental health resources. Central to our work is understanding a person through a social work perspective. This means we look at how culture and society affect individuals as we explore their mental health concerns. We believe that all people should have access to Therapy, by clinicians and interns who are continually trained and educated and who are also taken care of (not overworked). In doing so we try and meet the needs of those of the community who come to see us by either sliding our fees or accepting medicaid insurance.

Job Description

The Clinical Supervisor will play a central role in supporting the growth and competency of supervisees through structured supervision, ethical guidance, and a trauma-informed, relational approach to clinical practice. The Clinical Supervisor also coaches supervisees toward timely, accurate documentation and clinical-policy compliance and — when needed — reviews supervisees' clinical documentation and provides written feedback, working in partnership with the Documentation Supervisor(s) and the Clinic Administrator. This is a part-time position, generally 5–10 hours per week.

WC is an Essential Safety Net Provider focused on community-based mental health care and is committed to fostering compassionate, ethical, and developmentally informed therapeutic services. WC works with individuals, families, and communities across the lifespan, with a focus on quality client care, clinical excellence, and integrative, whole-person approaches. WC also has a training program where we focus on training future clinicians through internships and practicums. Whole Connection has a mission to train clinicians in social justice therapy and make mental health care more accessible.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individual, triad, and group clinical supervision to graduate-level interns, practicum students, and post-graduate clinicians working toward licensure (LPCC, LCSW, LMFT, LP, etc.), in accordance with licensure and academic-program requirements.
Support the development of clinical competencies — including assessment, diagnosis, case conceptualization, treatment planning, and documentation — coaching supervisees toward timely, accurate notes that meet WC and payer standards (the clinical "golden thread").
When needed, review supervisees' clinical documentation and provide written feedback. (Documentation review and compliance sign-off are led by the Documentation Supervisor(s), and billing/compliance tracking is handled by the Clinic Administrator; the Clinical Supervisor supports this in coordination, not as the auditor.)
Conduct performance evaluations and collaborate with academic supervisors for supervisees still enrolled in graduate programs.
Offer written feedback and participate in remediation planning when needed.
Maintain accurate records of supervision activities and hours — using WC's combined Supervision Log — for licensure verification and clinic records.
Maintain a supervision process grounded in ethical standards, cultural humility, and trauma-informed care.
Guide supervisees in professional development, self-of-the-therapist work, and adherence to legal and ethical standards, including crisis assessment/intervention and mandatory reporting.
Participate in regular meetings with the clinic's leadership and supervisory teams and contribute to an inclusive, collaborative, and reflective clinical culture.
Be on-site at the Boulder location at least one day a week to support unlicensed staff and provide in-person individual and group supervision as needed. During time not supervising, the Supervisor may use community space for their own professional use and individual offices as they are available.

Qualifications

Active licensure in the state of Colorado (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LP)
A minimum of 5 years post-licensure clinical experience, including work with individuals and families
Completion of formal clinical supervision training/certification or, at a minimum, two years of supervisory experience
Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed care, crisis assessment and intervention, reporting, and ethical decision-making
Familiarity with relational and systemic therapy models
Working knowledge of behavioral-health documentation and compliance standards (Medicaid and commercial) — medical necessity, diagnosis, treatment planning, and the clinical "golden thread"
Experience working with BIPOC and marginalized populations and experience supporting clients with complex needs and under Medicaid
Commitment to a diverse and inclusive community, understanding of the dynamics of privilege and oppression, and the impact these have on equity, access, and opportunity for both clients and supervisees
Experience supervising graduate-level clinicians and/or clinicians pursuing licensure
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Proficiency in software programs (Google Workspace, Gmail, etc.) and electronic health record systems (EHRs)
Familiarity with Colorado's DORA regulations for mental health professionals
Experience working and maintaining high levels of confidential information in a small community

Preferred Experience

Previous work in community mental health or multidisciplinary settings
Experience collaborating with academic programs and licensure-track clinicians
Experience or knowledge of the justice system and justice-involved clients

Compensation and Benefits

$65/$75 per hour for direct supervision (individual, triad, and group)
$65/$75 per hour for clinical documentation review and written feedback, when performed (paid at the full clinical rate — not the administrative rate)
$33 per hour for all other work (meetings, trainings attended, emails, and administrative tasks)
