About STEM Generation

STEM Generation, Inc. is a nonprofit organization focused on closing the gap in STEM education for underserved communities across the United States. The organization provides STEM role models, hands-on STEM learning kits, career connections, and science fair support to educators and students who have limited access to such resources. STEM Generation is committed to empowering under-recognized students and encouraging them to recognize their own potential to become successful STEM leaders.

Overview

The STEM Generation Program Manager (1099 contract position) is responsible for coordinating and supporting STEM education programs that engage students, educators, volunteers, and community partners. This position manages virtual learning experiences, supports science fair initiatives, and provides operational support to the Executive Director. The ideal candidate is highly organized, an excellent communicator, and passionate about expanding access to high-quality STEM education. This is an 80% virtual position with 20% in-person within the Denver/Front Range area.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate engaging online STEM classroom sessions for students and educators using virtual learning platforms like Zoom and Google Workspace.
Moderate online classes by managing participant engagement, monitoring chat discussions, and ensuring a positive learning environment.
Coordinate and support science fair activities, including volunteer and judge recruitment, judge training, and student participation..
Collaborate with staff, educators, volunteers, and community partners to ensure successful program implementation.
Support the Executive Director with program coordination, communications with stakeholders, including educators, school administration, and potential sponsors.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education, science, nonprofit management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience facilitating or moderating online classes, webinars, or virtual learning environments.
Strong organizational and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Zoom and Google Workspace.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Experience working with K–12 STEM education programs.
Familiarity with science fairs, student competitions, or volunteer management.
Experience working in nonprofit or educational organizations.

Skills and Abilities

Strong online facilitation and classroom management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Commitment to educational equity and increasing access to STEM opportunities.

Additional Information

Hybrid work environment at approximately 20 hours/month with additional hours some months.
Occasional travel to support STEM events, science fairs, workshops, and community outreach activities.

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour
