Full Job Description

Caputa & Associates, Ltd. is a tax and accounting firm in Des Plaines looking for two bookkeepers to join our team. This role covers ongoing client bookkeeping.

What you'll do:

Maintain client books (posting bank transactions and reconciliations, journal entries, financial statements)
Record payroll and other basic journal entries
Communicate directly with clients on bookkeeping questions
Enter and process basic payroll, sales tax, and income tax returns

What we're looking for:

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple clients
Clear communicator, comfortable talking to clients directly
Prior bookkeeping experience (2+ years is a big plus)
Familiarity with Xero (QuickBooks or other software experience also welcome)

Schedule:

30–40 hours/week outside of tax season
40+ hours/week during tax season (Jan–Apr). Overtime eligible.

Pay: From $27.00 per hour
