Overview

Join our dynamic behavioral health team as a Behavioral Health Technician, where your dedication and compassion will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals facing mental health, developmental, and behavioral challenges. In this vital role, you will provide direct patient care, support behavioral interventions, and assist in creating a safe and nurturing environment for clients of all ages. Your proactive approach and empathetic communication will help foster positive outcomes and promote wellness within our community. Duties

Assist with intake assessments and develop individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
Monitor and document patient progress using electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Support clients with daily activities, including behavior management, skill development, and social interaction exercises based on applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Administer medications accurately following medical directives and document medication administration in medical records.
Utilize crisis management and de-escalation techniques to ensure safety during behavioral episodes or emergencies.
Collect vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to monitor physical health status.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including social workers, special education professionals, and medical staff—to coordinate comprehensive care for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders or disabilities.
Provide support for clients with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), PTSD, substance use disorders, or other mental health conditions through evidence-based behavioral interventions.
Engage in data collection to track progress and inform treatment adjustments while maintaining accurate medical documentation.
Support clients during crisis intervention scenarios with patience, professionalism, and effective communication.

Skills

Experience working with children and youth in educational or clinical settings.
Knowledge of mental health conditions such as PTSD, autism spectrum disorders, and substance use disorders.
Proficiency in behavior intervention techniques including applied behavior analysis (ABA) and de-escalation methods.
Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and understand basic medical terminology.
Strong communication skills for client interaction, team collaboration, and documentation purposes.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems like EMR/EHR management tools while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodiverse populations.
Crisis management expertise to handle emergency situations effectively while maintaining safety for all involved.
First aid and CPR certification to respond promptly during medical emergencies.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality diligently while managing sensitive medical records and documentation.
