Full Job Description

Location: Dothan, AL (On-site / Inpatient Intensive Care Unit)

Schedule: Full-Time | High-Acuity Critical Care Rotations (Collaborative multidisciplinary schedule)

Compensation: Competitive Pay ($140,000 – $180,000 Base Salary per year aligned with MGMA standards + Production & Quality Bonuses)

The Mission

The mission of the ICU Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) is to serve as a cornerstone of clinical excellence and a vital provider of life-saving interventions within a dynamic, high-performing Intensive Care Unit in Dothan, Alabama. In this role, you will blend sharp clinical intuition with advanced procedural proficiency, working collaboratively alongside an elite multidisciplinary team to ensure top-tier, evidence-based care for critically ill adult patients. We are deeply committed to cultivating the future of medicine, which is why we proudly welcome and support highly motivated new graduates with significant, foundational critical care nursing experience alongside seasoned practitioners to continue our legacy of exceptional patient outcomes.

Scope of Impact

Comprehensive Clinical Excellence: Deliver exceptional, comprehensive care to critically ill adult ICU patients. Manage complex medical cases, oversee high-acuity admissions, and lead intensive daily rounding with a heavy focus on patient safety.
Advanced Procedural Exposure: Conduct on-site clinical interventions and critical care procedures. Expertly perform central lines, arterial lines, intubations, and other life-support management techniques as credentialed.
Collaborative Continuum of Care: Work hand-in-hand with an elite, dedicated medical staff, including intensivists, hospitalists, and specialized nursing teams. Coordinate complex care pathways seamlessly to ensure flawless multi-disciplinary care and engage in quality improvement projects.
Balanced Field Operations: Maintain a predictable, highly organized workflow designed to manage acute clinical needs efficiently while utilizing state-of-the-art medical resources and technology to optimize patient stabilization and recovery.

Clinical Versatility: A passion for high-acuity critical care practice, striking a natural balance between rapid diagnostic reasoning and meticulous, long-term stabilization in the ICU environment.
Technical & Procedural Mastery: Strong foundational or advanced proficiency in acute care medicine, ventilator management, and invasive bedside procedures.
Interpersonal Strengths: A collaborative team player who communicates with clarity, empathy, and absolute diplomacy when interfacing with families, nursing staff, and attending physicians during high-stress scenarios.

License and Experience Requirements

Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (ACNP / AGACNP highly preferred) or an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Certification: Board Certification is required. Current BLS and ACLS certifications are strictly mandatory.
Licensure: Eligible for, or currently holding, an active Advanced Practice license in the State of Alabama.
Experience Level: Open to both seasoned practitioners and exceptional New Graduates. New Graduate Nurse Practitioners will be considered only if they possess significant, hands-on prior experience as an ICU or Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN).
