CJob Summary:

Design Catapult is an innovative industrial design and engineering company located in Fountain Valley, California. For more than 20 years, we have partnered with clients across the medical, consumer products, sports and fitness, electronics, and industrial markets to bring innovative products from concept to production.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support the day-to-day operations of our Accounting Department. This position is responsible for processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end activities, and providing administrative support to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of accounting operations. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, eager to learn, and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Process vendor invoices and accounts payable transactions accurately and timely.
Prepare and process customer invoices and accounts receivable transactions.
Reconcile vendor statements and assist with resolving invoice discrepancies.
Process purchase orders and maintain vendor records.
Maintain organized accounting files and documentation in both electronic and paper formats.
Assist with monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
Enter accounting data into the accounting system with a high level of accuracy.
Assist with inventory-related accounting transactions and reconciliation as needed.
Work closely with Operations to support purchasing, inventory, shipping, and receiving activities.
Assist with maintaining accounting policies and internal procedures.
Prepare reports and spreadsheets as requested.
Provide administrative support to the Accounting Manager and Staff Accountants.
Perform general office duties including filing, scanning, copying, and document management.
Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications – Education, Experience, License and Certificates

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
Experience using accounting software; QuickBooks experience is a plus.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Manufacturing or inventory accounting experience is a plus but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping principles.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong mathematical and data entry skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer.
Frequent use of hands for keyboarding and office equipment.
Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and file documents.
Ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and customers.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
