Full Job Description

Operations/Account Manager

The Operations/Account Manager coordinates, manages, and monitors the production capability of one or more crews while maintaining the company’s quality, service, safety, and budget standards. This position oversees the people, materials, equipment, and schedules required to complete work efficiently and profitably. The manager serves as a primary client contact, identifies opportunities for new and additional services, and monitors the visual and horticultural quality of assigned properties. The role also leads, trains, and supports crew leaders and contributes to company marketing through consistent client communication using Service Autopilot and approved social media tools.

The successful candidate is self-motivated, organized, responsive, and able to manage time and priorities effectively. Strong judgment, problem-solving ability, a positive attitude, and excellent written and verbal communication are essential.

Key ResponsibilitiesQuality, Production, and Service

· Ensure overall job quality and appearance meet or exceed client and company standards.

· Establish job requirements, schedules, staffing, materials, and equipment needs; monitor execution through completion.

· Manage work to budgeted labor, material, equipment, and profitability goals.

· Ensure crews use sound horticultural practices that meet or exceed industry standards.

· Conduct regular site inspections, recognize quality or production issues, and take prompt corrective action.

· Maintain a professional appearance for all crews, vehicles, tools, and equipment.

· Ensure crews consistently demonstrate safe, professional, and courteous conduct.

· Support project managers, sales representatives, and senior managers with job takeovers, setup, production, and successful closeout.

· Lead, train, coach, and support crew leaders to improve performance, accountability, and service consistency.

Client Relations

· Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding the unique priorities of each property.

· Serve as a responsive point of contact and communicate clearly in person, by phone, and in writing.

· Conduct site visits and recommend practical improvements that enhance appearance, horticultural health, safety, and value.

· Follow up with each client promptly after project completion to confirm satisfaction and resolve concerns.

· Maintain current technical and horticultural knowledge to provide credible recommendations and solutions.

· Use Service Autopilot and approved communication tools to deliver consistent client updates and support retention.

Sales and Business Development

· Generate new revenue by expanding relationships with existing clients and prospecting for new customers.

· Identify, recommend, and sell enhancement services that address client and site needs.

· Confidently engage new prospects through outreach, networking, referrals, and in-person introductions.

· Prepare accurate estimates and proposals and communicate scope, pricing, timing, and expectations clearly.

· Support small company marketing campaigns and approved social media activities that encourage client engagement and service growth.

Administrative and Operational Management

· Follow the company’s estimating and sales proposal process and distribute accurate information to clients, prospects, and crews.

· Obtain signed contracts before work begins and confirm that approved scope and requirements are understood.

· Monitor and manage enhancement dispatch activities daily.

· Maintain accurate client, job, proposal, and follow-up records in Service Autopilot.

· Understand, uphold, and help reinforce company standards, policies, and operating procedures.

· Complete assigned non-selling responsibilities, including safety equipment oversight and inventory coordination.

· Participate proactively in training programs and weekly company meetings.

· Acquire and maintain all licenses and certifications required for the position.

Safety and Compliance

· Implement and enforce all company safety, transportation, and regulatory compliance programs.

· Verify that crews use required personal protective equipment and follow safe work practices.

· Periodically develop content for and conduct weekly safety meetings.

· Document, report, and help resolve incidents, hazards, equipment concerns, and corrective actions promptly.

Qualifications and Core Competencies

· Relevant experience in landscape operations, account management, field service, horticulture, or a related industry.

· Demonstrated experience supervising crews, coordinating multiple job sites, and managing work against budgets and schedules.

· Working knowledge of horticultural practices, landscape quality standards, and safe field operations.

· Sales and customer service experience, including prospecting, estimating, proposal presentation, and upselling.

· Strong leadership, coaching, organization, time-management, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence working with clients, prospects, and field teams.

· Ability to use Service Autopilot or similar field-service or customer relationship management software; comfortable using approved social media tools.

· Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain a positive, professional demeanor.

· Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain required licenses and certifications.

· Consistent achievement of client, company, horticultural, and safety quality standards.

· Jobs completed on schedule and within approved labor, material, and equipment budgets.

· Strong client satisfaction, retention, responsiveness, and issue resolution.

· Growth in enhancement sales, expanded services, referrals, and new client revenue.

· Accurate, timely documentation, proposals, contracts, dispatch, and follow-up activities.

· Improved crew leader capability, accountability, professionalism, and safety performance.

Pay: $53,687.89 - $64,656.38 per year
