Full time Family Practice / Internal Medicine in a multi specialty clinic in Chicago

Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:40-6pm

Requirements:

Current license to practice medicine in Illinois.
Board certified/Board Eligible
Valid DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certification
Familiarity with use of electronic health record (Allscripts used here)
Ability to work with culturally diverse patient base.
Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.

If you are looking to maximize your time outside of medicine, this is an ideal opportunity. The clinic is open Monday through Friday and there is no assigned call or hospital rounding. Our excellent RNs take on call on nights/weekends. The practice is located within the city and provides a great location for anyone hoping to live and work in the city or a nearby suburb, facilitated by its proximity to I-290.

The patients served are primarily Spanish (~80%) and Polish speaking (~20%). Support staff are all bilingual in Spanish or Polish.

Candidate would join a group of four family physicians, one Internal medicine physician and a part time Pediatrician. We have one nurse practitioner for same day /urgent care. Providers are scheduled approximately 16-19 patients per day. On average most of us see 15-17 per day pending the no show rate. About 1-2 days per month each provider is assigned an urgent care day. Skill with simple procedures are appreciated but not required.

The clinic includes an inhouse pharmacy, X-ray and Ultrasound department, Lab, Physical Therapy suite, Optometry clinic, and a full service Dental clinic. We bring in specialists to our clinic weekly, including Cardiology, ENT, Ob/Gyn, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Urology, Ophthalmology which allows us to coordinate patient care efficiently. We do not do any Occupational health.

This opportunity is a very unique one, in that we are a closed entity, self-funded, and open to only Union Members and their families. This means, we do not accept Medicaid/Medicare, nor any other major medical insurance. Because of this, our practitioners are entrusted with doing just one thing: taking care of patients. There are no quotas or RVUs. No struggles with coding/billing. No practice managers forcing an extra ten patients into an already overwhelming schedule. This is complemented by our incredible support staff who help coordinate care along with the provider.
