Restoration Estimator - Full time

TriStorm Restoration | Mishawaka, IN

TriStorm Restoration is seeking an experienced Restoration Estimator to join our growing team.

We are looking for someone with a background in the construction or restoration industry who has hands-on experience using Xactimate to scope losses and prepare detailed project estimates.

Our work includes both insurance-related and non-insurance restoration and reconstruction projects, so this position requires someone who understands construction, can accurately identify the full scope of work, and can confidently communicate and negotiate estimates when insurance carriers are involved.

Job Responsibilities:

Inspect properties and scope water, fire, storm, mold, and reconstruction projects

Identify necessary repairs and develop complete scopes of work

Prepare detailed project estimates using Xactimate

Review measurements, photos, documentation, and project information for accuracy

Submit estimates and supporting documentation to insurance carriers when applicable

Communicate with insurance adjusters regarding scopes, pricing, and required repairs

Prepare and submit supplements for missed or additional work

Negotiate estimates and settlements with insurance carriers

Work closely with project managers and production staff to ensure estimated scopes accurately reflect the work being completed

Prepare estimates for non-insurance/private-pay projects as needed

Maintain organized estimating files and documentation

Revise estimates throughout the project when conditions or scopes change

Qualifications:

Previous experience in the construction, restoration, or property damage industry

Xactimate experience required

Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and repair processes

Ability to accurately scope property damage and reconstruction projects

Experience working with insurance property claims strongly preferred

Experience submitting estimates and negotiating with insurance adjusters preferred

Understanding of insurance policy coverages is a plus

Strong attention to detail and documentation

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and estimates simultaneously

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Valid driver’s license

What we’re looking for:

We need someone who can walk into a damaged property, understand what needs to be done, develop an accurate scope, and translate that scope into a detailed Xactimate estimate.

The right candidate will have real-world construction knowledge and understand how individual line items come together to create a complete and defensible estimate.

Experience working directly with insurance carriers, writing supplements, and negotiating agreed scopes and pricing is highly valuable.

Compensation:

$60,000–$75,000 per year, based on experience

Bonus opportunities may be available based on performance and experience.
