Our experienced scientists support research and development efforts across various industries by generating precise analytical data and maintaining advanced instrumentation directly within our clients' laboratories.

Position Summary

We are seeking a bench scientist to support the analytical characterization of large molecule therapeutics, including monoclonal antibodies, multi-specifics, ADCs, AOCs, and other biotherapeutics. You will contribute to a dynamic and collaborative group responsible for high-resolution and high-throughput analytical assays to evaluate the quality, structure, and function of drug candidates. Based at the Client'ssDiscovery Biotherapeutics San Diego, CA site, you will represent the Analytics function for multiple projects across therapeutic areas and collaborate with cross-functional teams on new drug discovery efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Perform in‑depth analytical characterization of large‑molecule therapeutics using advanced separation and mass spectrometry techniques, including LC‑MS (intact and reduced analysis, peptide mapping, released N‑glycan profiling), SEC‑MALS, HIC, and other state‑of‑the‑art methodologies
Develop, optimize, and execute analytical methods for the assessment of purity, identity, heterogeneity, and post-translational modifications of biotherapeutics
Support high-throughput analytical workflows for early-stage lead selection and candidate profiling
Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation (e.g., LC-MS, SEC-MALS, HIC)
Clearly document experiments, analyze data, and present results and conclusions to project teams and other stakeholders
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project goals and timelines

Qualifications & Experience

· B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Sciences, or a related discipline with 2–4+ years of relevant laboratory experience

· Hands-on experience with analytical and biophysical technologies for large molecule characterization, including intact and reduced LC-MS

· Familiarity with automation, electronic lab notebooks, and LIMS systems

· Understanding of large molecule biotherapeutics structure, post-translational modifications, and analytical method development is highly desirable

· Demonstrated ability to interpret complex MS data and effectively communicate results to multidisciplinary teams

· Excellent organizational, analytical, and technical skills, with the ability to work well within a team environment across multiple disciplines

· Enthusiasm, willingness to learn, strong work ethic, and broad scientific interests

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a sense of urgency and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
