Full Job Description

Law Firm has an immediate need for a part time (25-35 hours) legal assistant who can assist with client intake, opening, organizing, closing files, data entries, and most importantly preparation of legal filings and correspondence.

We welcome pre-post bar law school students who wants to gain experience at Estate Planning and Immigration.

Responsibilities will include secretarial or administrative tasks, but the right candidate must be willing to learn and grow. Duties may include collecting information from clients, filling out forms, organizing records, preparing immigration filings, evaluating documents, and creating summaries. This individual will need to be highly organized, be able to multi-task, and have a professional demeanor with clients and family members. Must have reliable transportation to assist with the filing/recording of documents at the Courts, Country recorder's office, etc.

BILINGUAL with Mandarin Chinese is preferred.

The individual should be very organized, resourceful, detail oriented, have a positive attitude, and be able communicate effectively with clients about their cases. Must be able to prioritize, manage simultaneous tasks, and meet deadlines. Individual should be able to conduct basic legal research, have good writing skills, and assist attorney and other staff with preparation of legal filings. This individual will play an important role in preparation of cases with the attorney(s).

Our Law Firm specializes in Estate Planning Law. We will train the right candidate, but preference will be given to candidates with a genuine interest in Estate Planning and/or immigration law and/or experience, course study, or training related to family-based immigration petitions and removal defense. Our firm consider candidate with trusts, probate, trust administration experience.
