Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Culinary Director to lead our culinary operations within a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of food service management, clinical nutrition, and health regulation policies. As Culinary Director, you will oversee all aspects of food production, team management, and compliance to ensure the delivery of nutritious, safe, and high-quality meals that meet the needs of our residents or patients. Your leadership will foster a collaborative environment focused on excellence in dietary services and patient-centered care.

Duties

Develop and implement innovative menus aligned with clinical nutrition standards and dietary guidelines, ensuring variety and nutritional adequacy.
Manage and supervise food service teams, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to promote a motivated and efficient workforce.
Oversee food safety management practices to ensure compliance with health codes, sanitation standards, and regulatory policies.
Coordinate with healthcare professionals to create personalized care plans that incorporate specialized diets, tube feeding protocols, and other medical nutrition therapies.
Monitor food production processes for quality control, consistency, and adherence to budgetary constraints while minimizing waste.
Ensure proper documentation within electronic health records (EHR) systems for dietary assessments, care plans, and nutritional interventions.
Conduct regular staff training on food safety, health coaching techniques, and regulatory updates to maintain high standards of service delivery.
Lead efforts in diagnostic evaluation of nutritional needs through patient assessments and physiological data analysis to optimize care outcomes.

Requirements

Proven experience in food service management within assisted living facilities or healthcare environments with a focus on dietary departments.
Extensive knowledge of health regulation policies related to food safety, sanitation, and nutrition standards.
Strong background in clinical nutrition, dietetics, or dietetics-related fields with familiarity in managing care plans for diverse patient populations.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing food service teams and supervising dietary staff members effectively.
Proficiency in managing budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation for large-scale food production operations.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for documenting patient assessments and nutritional interventions accurately.
Knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition needs during acute care or chronic conditions such as assisted living residents or patients requiring tube feeding.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams, educate staff on health coaching practices, and ensure compliance with health regulations.
