Overview: Division 9, a family-owned company with a great work environment, and national footprint is seeking a Commercial Project Engineer who is proactive, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. This role requires experience in commercial interior finishes, including but not limited to flooring, countertops, millwork, cabinetry, paint, and other related finishes within multi-family and hospitality projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating & Procurement:
Accurately estimate costs for materials, labor, and other project-related expenses.
Procure materials and services, ensuring timely deliveries and budget compliance.
Work with vendors and subcontractors to negotiate pricing and secure the best possible deals for the company.
Project Management Support:
Manage budgeting, scheduling, and cost tracking to ensure project completion within financial parameters.
Ensure that all materials and finishes are ordered and delivered on time to meet project timelines.
Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
Assist in coordinating the installation of finishes, ensuring that the project is completed to the client’s specifications.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and change orders.
Review and track submittals, shop drawings, and other project-related documentation.
Quality Control:
Ensure that all materials and finishes meet quality standards and project specifications.
Be able to identify compatibility issues and conflicts in the drawings and effectively communicate to project stakeholders.
Cost Tracking & Reporting:
Track job costs and monitor the budget throughout the course of the project.
Report on project financial status and identify any discrepancies or issues that need to be addressed.
Support Sales:
Assist with client development and engagement
Develop networking opportunities

Experience: At least 2-5 years of experience in interior finishes (flooring, cabinetry, countertops, etc.).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software, estimating tools, and general office software (Excel, Word, etc.).
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the commercial construction industry.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, vendors, and clients.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify potential issues in project execution and find timely, cost-effective solutions.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in project documentation, budgeting, and procurement.
