Property & Casualty Insurance — Part-Time with Growth Potential

We are hiring a part-time Account Manager / Customer Service Representative to join our property and casualty insurance agency team.

This is not a call center position. We are a small, independent agency with a big personality. We work hard, care deeply, laugh when we can, and take pride in helping clients feel informed, protected, and genuinely taken care of. We are looking for someone who cares about people, communicates well, takes pride in their work, and wants to grow in the insurance industry.

This position is currently part-time, with the potential to grow into a full-time role based on agency needs, performance, and continued growth.

About the Role

The Account Manager / Customer Service Representative supports clients, staff, and carrier partners with day-to-day service, quoting, remarketing, retention, and administrative needs. This role requires strong communication, good judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures while continuing to learn and improve.

The ideal candidate is warm, professional, organized, and motivated. We are looking for someone who can balance client care with accurate documentation, timely follow-up, and thoughtful insurance placement.

Schedule

Part-time
Monday through Friday
12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
25 hours per week

Additional hours may be available from time to time based on agency needs. This role has the potential to grow into a full-time position for the right candidate.

Work Location / Arrangement

This is a Washington-based position with remote work flexibility. Candidates located near Lake Stevens, Spokane, or Pullman are encouraged to apply, as occasional in-person training or agency needs may arise.

This role includes remote work flexibility but is not intended to be guaranteed as permanently or exclusively remote. The employee must be able to meet agency expectations for availability, communication, productivity, and responsiveness during scheduled work hours. Depending on location and agency needs, occasional in-person work, training, office support, mail pickup, scanning, or document routing may be required.

Responsibilities

Answer and direct phone calls in a professional, timely manner
Assist clients with policy changes, payments, documentation, billing questions, and general service needs
Provide responsive, solution-oriented client support
Complete accurate data entry and maintain detailed notes in the agency management system
Set and manage follow-ups so client requests and internal tasks do not fall through the cracks
Follow up with clients, carriers, lenders, and internal staff as needed
Quote new business, rewrites, remarkets, and cross-sell opportunities as assigned
Review client needs and help place coverage with appropriate carriers based on underwriting guidelines, eligibility, pricing, coverage needs, and agency standards
Identify appropriate markets for each client and avoid placing business where the client does not fit carrier appetite or agency expectations
Explain coverage options clearly and professionally so clients understand their choices
Identify and pursue cross-sell opportunities, including renters, homeowners, umbrella, recreational vehicles, and other applicable personal lines policies
Support retention efforts by reviewing renewals, rate increases, remarketing opportunities, and coverage gaps
Assist with welcome calls, policy reviews, and proactive client outreach
Follow carrier underwriting standards and internal guidelines
Maintain professionalism, accuracy, timeliness, and completeness in client, staff, and carrier communications
Support internal staff with document scanning, mail organization, administrative processing, and other office-based tasks as assigned
Perform additional agency support duties as needed

Qualifications

Active Property & Casualty insurance license required
Independent insurance agency experience required
Personal lines account management, customer service, quoting, or remarketing experience required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to quote, compare, and place coverage with appropriate carriers
Understanding of carrier appetite, underwriting guidelines, eligibility requirements, and coverage options
Strong follow-through, documentation habits, and attention to detail
Ability to work independently while following established agency procedures
Comfortable using technology throughout the day in a paperless, tech-forward agency, including Microsoft Office, Adobe, RingCentral, agency management systems, carrier websites, and quoting platforms.
