Full Job Description

Summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of a restaurant kitchen in a single restaurant location.

Essential Job Functions:

· Runs shifts, keeping a constant and active presence on the food production line and in food preparation areas. Oversees and participates in food production at all stages and maintains food quality, consistency, and preparation standards. Ensures adherence to recipe and plating guidelines. Prepares prep lists for staff members to ensure preparedness for service. Works any station or kitchen job function as needed in the event of staffing shortages.

· Performs daily line checks to ensure that food safety standards are met and that quality expectations are upheld.

· Assists with ordering both food and non-food items to ensure that the restaurant is adequately stocked to execute all menu items and specials.

· Enforces food safety and sanitation practices in accordance with guidelines on scheduled shifts.

· Responsible for ensuring that cleaning and janitorial tasks are performed on scheduled shifts. Uses posted cleaning lists as instructed to ensure that cleanliness expectations are met. Promptly communicates to the Kitchen Manager and assists with issues relating to pest control.

· Responsible for supervising kitchen employees on scheduled shifts. Ensures that employees complete assigned tasks and adhere to company policy while working. Communicates the need for disciplinary action promptly to the FOH manager on duty.

· Assists with the hiring and training of kitchen employees in the assigned restaurant location.

· Assists with the creation of employee schedules in line with labor cost targets.

· Actively manages daily kitchen labor costs ensuring that posted “out” times are adhered to and that “phasing” begins early during very slow times.

· Ensures a safe working environment by maintaining safety and uniform standards. Identify areas of safety risk and take action to correct them. Reports any on-site accidents or injuries to the FOH manager on duty immediately.

· Monitors and communicates the need for kitchen repairs in a timely manner.

· Works with the FOH manager on duty to ensure exemplary customer service.

· Actively participates in Comm Log reporting according with a “solution-based approach” to entries.

· Attends and contributes to scheduled meetings. Follows through on ensuring that tasks assigned are completed in a timely manner.

· Enforces the Paesanos Inc. Zero Tolerance policy on Sexual Harassment and Discrimination, acting swiftly when violations are observed and communicates fully to the FOH manager on duty when any violations are observed.

· Enforces the Paesanos Inc. Zero Tolerance policy on Drugs and Alcohol, acting swiftly when violations are observed and communicates fully to the FOH manager on duty when any violations are observed.

Responsible for acting in accordance with and enforcing all other company policy outlined in all official company documents.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
