Assistant Manager – Trevi Lounge (Fairfield, CT)

Trevi Lounge is an LGBTQ+ community bar located in Fairfield. As we reopen with a small kitchen, we’re expanding our team and looking for an Assistant Manager who can support both bar and kitchen operations. Trevi is a tight‑knit, bartender‑run space, so this role is hands‑on, steady, and focused on keeping service smooth, not a corporate restaurant management job.

Job Summary

The Assistant Manager supports daily operations across the bar and kitchen, helps coordinate staff, maintains inventory, and ensures Trevi continues to be a welcoming, safe environment for guests. You’ll work directly with bartenders and kitchen staff, reinforcing consistency, cleanliness, and reliable service during regular nights and community events.

Responsibilities

Bar Operations

Support bartenders during busy shifts, events, and community nights.
Oversee POS accuracy, cash handling, and nightly close‑out procedures.
Maintain bar cleanliness, organization, and restocking.
Assist with training new bartenders and reinforcing house standards.

Kitchen Operations

Support kitchen staff with prep flow, ticket timing, and food quality.
Ensure food safety, sanitation, and compliance with health regulations.
Monitor kitchen inventory, restocking needs, and vendor orders.
Help maintain a clean, organized kitchen and storage area.

General Management

Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and basic performance support.
Address guest concerns calmly and professionally.
Coordinate setup and flow for event nights (drag shows, karaoke, themed nights).
Communicate inventory shortages, maintenance needs, and operational issues promptly.
Uphold Trevi’s inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ guests and staff.

Qualifications

Experience in bar management, kitchen supervision, or both.
Strong leadership presence with the ability to guide a small team.
Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently.
Understanding of basic food safety and bar service standards.
Experience with POS systems and cash handling.
Ability to stay calm and organized during busy periods.
Commitment to maintaining a welcoming, respectful environment.

Trevi is a long‑standing LGBTQ+ bar known for its community‑driven atmosphere, themed nights, drag shows, karaoke, and local events. With the addition of a kitchen, we’re expanding our offerings while keeping the same neighborhood feel. We operate with a small team, so reliability, teamwork, and steady leadership are essential.

Pay: $22.50 - $30.00 per hour
