Full Job Description

Helpmate, Inc., a domestic violence agency in Asheville, NC, seeks a Bilingual Case Manager to join our dedicated team. This is a non-exempt position reporting directly to the Case Management Coordinator. The Bilingual Case Manager provides essential case management, advocacy, and crisis support to domestic violence survivors within our community.

Key Responsibilities

Survivor Advocacy: Provide comprehensive case management, crisis intervention, and advocacy support to domestic violence survivors.
Crisis Management: Respond effectively to crisis situations with trauma-informed care and immediate support strategies.
Time Management: Manage a diverse caseload efficiently, ensuring timely follow-up and documentation.
Communication: Facilitate clear, empathetic communication with clients, staff, and community partners in both English and Spanish.

Requirements & Qualifications

Language Proficiency: Full fluency in English and Spanish is required. Fluency must be proven during the interview process.
Education & Experience: Must hold a bachelor’s degree or have 2 years of experience in social work or a related field. A commensurate combination of education and experience will be considered.
Industry Preference: Prior experience working in domestic violence advocacy or a related human services field is highly preferred.
Core Skills: Strong crisis management, interpersonal communication, and organizational skills.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Rate: Base rate pay is $23.26/hour (which includes a 10% increase for bilingual fluency). Additional pay incentives are available for up to 10 years of relevant experience, resulting in a maximum starting range of $25.82/hour.
