Full Job Description

Job Summary
Join our dental team as a Dental Receptionist, where your energetic and welcoming presence will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. In this vital role, you will manage patient scheduling, insurance verification, and medical recordkeeping with precision and professionalism. Your proactive approach will ensure smooth clinic operations, exceptional patient service, and seamless communication between patients and clinical staff. Duties

Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out procedures using dental office management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
Schedule appointments efficiently, coordinate follow-up visits, and manage appointment calendars to optimize clinic flow
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks
Maintain accurate patient records by reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, answer inquiries, and direct calls appropriately
Collect payments, process medical collections, and perform billing tasks using EMR (Electronic Medical Records)
Manage filing of medical records, review care plans, and update patient information in accordance with health information management standards

Skills

Extensive experience with dental office software including Dentrix
Strong knowledge of medical billing procedures
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and secure handling of health information
Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
Bilingual capabilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Proven office experience in a healthcare environment with clerical support duties including filing, typing, and document management
Ability to navigate multiple computer systems confidently while maintaining high accuracy in data entry and documentation review
