Full Job Description

Tax Specialist

Join a well-established global manufacturing organization with a significant North American presence and a strong reputation within the automotive industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional who wants broad exposure across corporate tax rather than being limited to one specialty. You’ll work within a sophisticated finance organization, partner across the business, and have visibility into federal, state and indirect tax matters while maintaining a hybrid schedule with one remote day per week.

Full-time, Direct Hire

Location:
Auburn Hills, MI

Work Schedule:
Hybrid – 4 days onsite / 1 day remote

Hours:
Standard business hours, Monday–Friday

Compensation:
$95,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience

Benefits:
Comprehensive benefits package offered. Additional details available during the interview process. This position is not currently bonus eligible.

Responsibilities:

Support U.S. corporate federal and state income tax compliance and reporting
Prepare and support year-end income tax provisions and related reconciliations
Manage/support indirect tax matters, including sales and use tax
Assist with federal and state tax audits and inquiries
Support tax planning, credits, incentives and other corporate tax initiatives
Monitor changes in tax regulations and assist with ongoing compliance
Partner with internal accounting/finance teams and external tax advisors
Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and reporting

Qualifications:

5+ years of corporate tax experience
Strong knowledge of federal and state corporate income tax
Experience with indirect tax, including sales and use tax
Experience supporting year-end tax provisions
Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently while partnering across accounting and finance
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
CPA and/or advanced tax degree preferred
Manufacturing or automotive industry experience is a plus
