Full Job Description

General Description:

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving commercial sales growth throughout the assigned markets by identifying and securing new business opportunities. This position focuses on prospecting through cold calling, networking, referrals and relationship building to develop new strategic customer accounts. Once a customer relationship has been established and transitioned into an ongoing service phase, the Business Development Manager will partner with an internal Sales Representative to ensure a seamless handoff while maintaining a collaborative relationship that supports long-term customer success and future growth opportunities.

Duties Include:

· Prospect and identify new commercial customers through cold calling networking, referrals and other business development activities.

· Target and secure large strategic accounts that align with the company's growth objectives.

· Build executive-level relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.

· Prepare and deliver timely bids, proposals and pricing quotations to prospective customers.

· Negotiate pricing, service agreements and contract terms within company guidelines.

· Develop and execute an individual business development plan that supports company sales goals.

· Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships by introducing additional products and services.

· Collaborate with Executive Operations Managers to forecast growth and ensure appropriate staffing, inventory and operational readiness for new business.

· Coordinate with internal Sales Representatives to ensure a smooth transition of new accounts while remaining available as a strategic partner during the onboarding process.

· Maintain strong customer relationships throughout the transition process to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term retention.

· Represent the company by visiting customer locations and attending industry events, conferences, trade shows and networking opportunities.

· Become proficient in manufacturer-sponsored national account programs and leverage those programs to identify new business opportunities and provide value-driven solutions to customers.

· Maintain accurate records of prospecting activities, sales opportunities and customer interactions.

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

· Frequent squatting, bending, and twisting

· Lifting: frequent lifting over 20 pounds from ground to chest high

· Standing for extended periods of time

· Vision (Near, distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception)

· Sense of sound (Alarms, horns and motorized equipment)

· PPE: Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (Safety Glasses, gloves, footwear)

· Travel: Ability and willingness to travel, including travel by automobile and airplane and stay overnight in a hotel

Experience:

· 3+ years’ experience in the commercial tire industry

· 5+ years’ in sales, business development or key account management with proven track record of acquiring new business and growing the customer base.

· Strong knowledge of medium truck tires, retread products, industrial tires and OTR (Off-the-Road) tires.

· Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record withing MVR policy guidelines

· MSHA Miner Certification a plus
