Legal Secretary (Remote)
Salary: $20.00 hourly

About the Firm

Manuel Alejandro Law Firm, LLC is a growing litigation practice looking to hire a dedicated Legal Secretary to support our expanding team. The firm has grown consistently since opening in July 2023 and currently consists of two attorneys.

This position is an excellent opportunity for an organized administrative professional who wants to learn the ropes of the legal field and be an integral part of a small, ambitious team. We are looking for someone who is genuinely excited to learn and help keep a fast-paced litigation firm running seamlessly.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

* Client Intake and Phones: Answering inbound phone calls with a warm, welcoming, and professional demeanor, and handling basic client intake.

* Scheduling and Calendaring: Managing attorney calendars, scheduling consultations, court proceedings, hearings, depositions, and mediations.

* File Organization: Keeping digital and physical case files highly organized, updated, and easily accessible.

* Document Support: Drafting, formatting, and proofreading legal correspondence and basic administrative forms.

* Attorney Assistance: Handling general administrative needs, which may occasionally include handling personal errands for the attorneys to keep operations running smoothly.

We are looking for someone who is:

* A People Person: You possess an exceptionally friendly, professional phone manner, and love helping people.

* Eager to Learn: No prior legal experience is required. We will train the right person, but you must be motivated to learn new processes quickly.

* Detail-Oriented and Dependable: You never let a task slip through the cracks and can pivot seamlessly between office tasks and personal errands.

* Fully Bilingual: You can comfortably speak and write in both English and Spanish to assist our diverse clients.

* Tech-Savvy: Comfortable learning cloud-based software and working independently in a remote environment while staying in constant communication with the team.

We take our work very seriously, but we do not take ourselves too seriously. Our office is intentionally more relaxed than many law firms. We value professionalism, integrity, and excellent work, but we also appreciate team members who have a good sense of humor, enjoy joking around, and genuinely like working with the people around them. If you prefer a very formal, corporate office culture where every interaction is highly structured, this position is probably not the best fit. Compensation and Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is $20.00 per hour. This is a full-time position with a 90-day probationary period at the same pay rate. At this time, the firm does not offer health insurance or retirement benefits. Paid time off is provided.
