Restaurant Manager – Molly’s in Soulard

Location: 816 Geyer Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63104
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Primarily daytime and evening restaurant hours, including weekends

Molly’s in Soulard is hiring an experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee our day-to-day food and beverage operations. This position is primarily focused on restaurant service, but will also supervise the bar and serve as Manager on Duty for the overall property during most scheduled shifts.

We are looking for a hands-on leader who is comfortable working the floor, supporting employees, solving problems, and maintaining consistent standards in a busy, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

Direct daily front-of-house restaurant operations
Serve as Manager on Duty and oversee the restaurant, bar, kitchen, and support staff during assigned shifts
Ensure guests receive friendly, timely, and attentive service
Monitor food quality, ticket times, presentation, and order accuracy
Coordinate communication between servers, bartenders, hosts, and kitchen employees
Maintain proper staffing levels and assign employees where they are needed most
Train, coach, and hold employees accountable for performance and conduct
Address attendance, service, cleanliness, and policy issues promptly
Resolve guest concerns professionally and make appropriate service-recovery decisions
Oversee responsible alcohol service and ensure bar procedures are followed
Monitor cash handling, discounts, voids, comps, and end-of-shift reports
Help control food and beverage costs, waste, over-pouring, and inventory shortages
Ensure opening, shift-change, cleaning, and closing duties are completed
Maintain high standards for the dining room, patio, bars, kitchen, restrooms, and entrances
Identify maintenance or equipment problems and follow through on repairs
Assist with scheduling, hiring, training, employee evaluations, and disciplinary action
Support private events, promotions, holidays, and high-volume weekends
Respond to safety, security, or guest-conduct issues when acting as Manager on Duty
Communicate important operational and personnel issues clearly to senior management

What We’re Looking For

At least three years of restaurant management experience preferred
Experience in a high-volume restaurant and bar environment
Strong leadership and communication skills
A visible, hands-on management style
Good judgment and the ability to remain calm under pressure
Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and follow-through
Experience with scheduling, labor control, inventory, cash handling, and POS systems
Working knowledge of food safety and responsible alcohol service
Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
