The Role

FirstLight Home Care of Mableton, GA is seeking compassionate and patient caregivers to deliver client-centered, non-medical care and assistance with activities of daily living in clients' homes. You'll follow an established Service/Care Plan and help each client maximize their independence in the place they most want to be: home.

We're looking for people who are dependable, observant, and genuinely committed to our mission — caregivers who show up on time, notice what others miss, and treat every client like family.

What You'll Do

Personal care: Provide personal care per the Service/Care Plan — hygiene, bathing, toileting, oral, hair, and skin care.
Companion care: Provide meaningful companionship — conversation, activities, light escort to appointments or errands, and help keeping clients socially engaged.
Mobility: Assist with transfers, walking, walkers, and wheelchairs (mechanical lifts only if trained and documented as competent).
Daily living: Plan, prepare, and assist with meals; provide medication reminders and prompt prescribed exercises as directed by a health care professional.
Safety & presence: Remain with the client for the full shift, respond quickly in emergencies, and report any unusual incidents.
Documentation: Clock in and out using the required FLHC time management system and document all services delivered per FirstLight policy.
Communication: Record and report any changes in the client's physical condition, behavior, or appearance to your supervisor.

What You'll Need

High school diploma or GED (required)
Current enrollment in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Public Health, or Allied Health or Biomedical sciences program OR
5+ years of caregiving experience and PCA certification, or PCA/CNA/LPN student, current CNA license Preferred
Current CPR and First Aid certification, and a current TB skin test within the last 12 months
Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance
Clean background check and drug screen — state law requires national and state background checks for this position
Live within 45 min commute of Mableton, GA and surrounding areas (preferred but not required)
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a great plus

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Work takes place in clients' homes and occasionally in an office setting, with potential exposure to illness and body fluids. The role regularly requires talking, hearing, and use of hands; frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, and reaching; and occasionally requires lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. Close, distance, and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus are required. The work environment is primarily indoors in a resident’s home and may contain a potential exposure to illness and/or body fluids. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
