Full Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to join our team and support our growing project pipeline. This senior‑level role requires deep technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and the ability to lead estimating efforts from concept through final proposal. The ideal candidate brings proven experience in electrical estimating, strong vendor and client relationships, and the ability to mentor junior estimators.

Key Responsibilities

Lead estimating efforts — Oversee the full estimating process for commercial, residential, and industrial electrical projects
Blueprint and spec analysis — Interpret complex electrical drawings, specifications, and project documents
Advanced material takeoffs — Perform detailed quantity, labor, and equipment calculations
Cost development — Build accurate, competitive estimates and complete bid proposals
Vendor & subcontractor coordination — Solicit and evaluate pricing, negotiate terms, and maintain strong supplier relationships
Bid strategy — Develop pricing strategies, identify risks, and recommend value‑engineering opportunities
Team collaboration — Partner with project managers, engineers, and field leadership to ensure alignment
Cost tracking— Support project budgets and labor cost.
Mentorship — Guide junior estimators, review their work, and support professional development
Client relationship management — Maintain and grow client relationships; a book of business is a strong plus

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in electrical estimating or electrical construction
Strong understanding of NEC codes, electrical systems, and construction practices
Ability to read and interpret complex electrical drawings and technical documents
Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, Plan Grid and Bluebeam, etc.)
Strong math, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple bids, deadlines, and fast‑paced project cycles
Experience preparing estimates for commercial electrical projects.
Preferred: Existing client relationships or a proven book of business
Preferred: Experience mentoring or leading junior estimators
Degree or certification in electrical technology, construction management, or related field (preferred but not required)
Must be able to pass a background check
