Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Gate Clerk to oversee the entry and exit processes at our distribution center. In this vital role, you will manage access control for employees, visitors, carriers, and vendors, ensuring smooth operations while maintaining security protocols. Your responsibilities will include verifying shipments, facilitating shipping and receiving activities, and supporting inventory management efforts. The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, and possess a strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to efficient warehouse distribution and order fulfillment processes in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Control access to the facility by verifying credentials for employees, visitors, contractors, and carriers using warehouse management systems and RFID scanners
Process inbound and outbound shipments accurately, ensuring compliance with shipping logistics and trade regulations
Assist with order picking, packing, and loading/unloading activities using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts where certified
Maintain accurate records of all entries, shipments, and inventory movements through data entry into ERP systems like AS400 or MRP software
Support inventory management by conducting stock counts, updating inventory management software, and ensuring proper stocking procedures
Facilitate shipping & receiving operations by coordinating with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and dispatch of goods
Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries related to shipment status or warehouse procedures while maintaining professionalism

Qualifications

Prior experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers is highly preferred
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, ERP systems (such as AS400), and RF scanners
Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for inventory counts and shipment documentation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting and communication purposes
Valid certification for forklift operation is a plus; experience with order pickers, pallet jacks, and load/unload equipment is desirable
Strong understanding of shipping logistics, trade compliance, international trade regulations, and order fulfillment processes
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to multitask efficiently in a dynamic environment
