Full Job Description

Job Title: Financial Controller, ITRS LLC

Location: [Wytheville, VA] / Onsite]

Job Type: Full-time (possible Part Time option as well)

About Us ITRS has been in business for 20+ years and is a growing Family Owned technology company dedicated to delivering innovative solutions to our clients. We operate as a agile, focused team where every member makes a direct impact. We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Financial Controller to take ownership of our financial operations and support our business growth.

Position Overview As our Financial Controller, you will run our accounting department from top to bottom. You will manage daily financial activities, ensure accurate reporting, and provide the cash-flow insights needed to make smart business decisions. This is a hands-on role where you will manage everything from high-level forecasting to daily ledger maintenance. You will report directly to the [CEO/Owner].

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management: Manage all accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll processing, and invoice reconciliation.
Month-End Close: Own the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, cash flow forecasts, and budget variance reviews.
Cash Flow Oversight: Monitor cash runway closely and optimize working capital.
Systems Maintenance: Maintain accuracy and compliance within our Sage 50 / Peachtree accounting platform.
Compliance & Tax: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and coordinate with our external CPA for year-end tax preparation.
Internal Controls: Establish, document, and enforce financial policies to protect company assets.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is a plus, but not required
Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a proven track record in a small business environment is a plus but not required
Software: Strong, hands-on proficiency with Peachtree (Sage 50) and advanced Excel is a plus but not required
Attributes: Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and capable of working independently without a large support team.
Credentials: CPA or CMA is a plus, but not required.
